Subject: [wardenship] Re: Omnidirectional boundary microphoneHallo, thanks for this information, we will investigate. In NE Thames we are trying to help people be heard in blended meetings in a modernist hexagonal room with floor to ceiling windows and a lot of hard surfaces. Also in the converted top floor of a former industrial building, when we take the laptop and screen there. We have been using an ex professional microphone that was gifted during the pandemic.I have heard that our friend in Northumbria recently improved the sound for their blended area meetings and would be interested to know what was purchased. Thanks,Christine Downes-GraingerEpping Premises Clerk and AM ClerkOn Wed, 30 Jul 2025 at 11:07, Office <office@oxfordquakers.org> wrote:_______________________________________________Hi Martin
When we had our hearing loop installed, they hung an omnidirectional microphone from the centre of our ceiling. I’m not sure whether this is the cheapest option but it seems to work well.

Subject: [wardenship] Omnidirectional boundary microphone
Bit of a technical question:
I'm in the process of assembling a loop amplifier system in our second largest room and am looking for a suitable OMNIDIRECTIONAL boundary microphone to site on a table in the middle of the room to pick up speech. The furthest point from the table would be around 8M and the lead from the mic to the amplifier needs to be 4M long.
I'd be interested in other Meetings experience and feedback before spending money.
Oh, and the budget is tight, so a readily available second hand unit would be preferable.--
Kind regards,
