Good morning all,

At Friargate I had a WorldPay machine installed years ago. Just before lockdown. It is not cheap, but Friargate do have a large letting business and I needed something that would link to SAGE and help with including a SAGE PAY button on our invoices which this does. I can then look at reports and reconcile to the bank and anyone paying via the Sage pay link button it automatically asks me to allocate it in Sage when I log on.

However, down side is it is not cheap and I wont bore you with the details of them suspending our service for 6 weeks on due diligence as they did not like the answers I was supplying re Trustee details for York Area Quaker Meeting (when they bothered to read them) and also though we were a hotel/hostel/inn/pub – do not ask!

I am now back on but it nearly caused a nervous breakdown… also I have been thinking for a while of swapping to Elevon which is cheaper and hopefully more efficient for our needs.

Happy Thursday all

Hi Judi

I have nothing to add to this conversation other than:  I'm still interested in this conversation and information.  Lancaster are still considering their options, but the Treasurer does not seem to be particularly interested in taking it further.  I would love to be able to take a list of who uses what and how successful the various options have been.  I'd love to know how affordable the different systems are; how users friendly they are, and how the various Meetings account for the money that is paid using the various systems - ie how much staff/volunteer time is saved vs needed; and can anyone show evidence that using card machines have resulted in an increase in giving.  I'd also still be interested to hear whether any Meetings have been using a card payment method that works well for room hire payments as well as donations and collections etc.

Sorry I can't be of any help.

I would be glad to hear of recommendations and experience from any meeting house using a simple card machine.
