Hi Vicki, If you go to https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/topics/telling-us-you-do... you can declare that you don't need a TV licence. This will give you peace for 3 years. If you don't do this, TV Licensing will keep sending you ever more aggressive letters. They don't understand the concept of TVs being used for things like Powerpoint presentations, non-live online videos, and Zoom. So you'll have to tick the box that you only watch pre-recorded things (like DVDs), which would be the closest equivalent. If you do get a TV Licensing Officer visit you, it helps if your TV isn't tuned into any channels. Speaking from experience, tuning a TV into channels is a doddle - tuning it out of all channels can be very time-consuming, although in my case, it was well worth the effort, as I once did have someone come to my home to check. Some meeting houses buy the tv license to allow them to watch documentaries or similar.
We recommend to our clients that they put a clause in their T&Cs to say something like, 'this building does not have a tv license and therefore no live television can be watched on the premises.' As that covers people using the wifi to watch on their own devices.
