Hello, At Edinburgh Meeting House we have been using Hallmaster since January. It has some good points but there are also functionality issues that we have to work around that can be time-consuming. And from a customer point of view it doesn't seem to be that intuitive. We often get hirers contacting us with questions about how to confirm bookings or see the correct amount on the invoice. We are reviewing our use of Hallmaster at the moment and may not stay with it. Although I don't yet have an alternative in mind. We use TeamUp as our calendar for bookings information to be seen by staff, but this means duplication between Hallmaster and TeamUp, which can lead to mistakes as information makes it to one but not the other system. Matrix was mentioned at the Quaker Centres Gathering in May and I have had a look at that, but without actually using it for a while with actual customers it is hard to tell if it will be an improvement. Does anyone import invoices from Hallmaster into QuickBooks, using the HM module? I cannot get QB to recognise the informatio, as given by Hallmaster, so if anyone can advise on what can be done to make it work, I would love to hear from them. Hello all, Yes I would definitely endorse Hallmaster. I've been using it with two different meeting houses for 10 years or so and in that time they have made a number of improvements. One of the major pluses (alongside not being possible to double book!) is that their support and training is very good - real people and pretty quick. I dont personally enable customers to book their own sessions - it will enable that once an account is created - but thats my preference to handle all bookings through email. We do have the calendar link embedded in our website tho so hirers can check availability. The various modules interact very well and for the use we make of it (multiple times daily), I think it offers pretty good value. Only glitch that I've come across is if a new hirer is already a customer at another venue using Hallmaster. It then uses that entry and you cant edit which can sometimes be annoying. Other than that I highly recommend. Friendly greetings, Helen Helen Whittington /Freelance Manager/ /Darlington Friends Meeting House/ /Urgent contact 07941 338169/

One of the benefits is the ease of producing and sending invoices for the bookings, all within the one system. Everything is linked up - like customer details, bookings, invoices, statements etc. Support is good too. There are a few things that their software developers could work on to perfect, and they do welcome feedback, but I find it pretty straightforward to use. More efficient than using Google calendar, then transferring data to a separate invoicing system. "In my humble opinion." Hello Friends, Here at at Scarborough we also use Google Calendar for bookings - I use a colour coded system for the rooms - eg red for the large room, green for the small room and blue for the committee room. As Liz says, adding things manually to invoices takes a few minutes for each booking, I have a sheet I made which I fill in by hand, looking at the calendar for who booked which room and when, it takes about ½ hour I suppose. Then transfer the details to invoices created by Quickbooks which sends the invoices and records them too. Our AM has transferred all local Meetings to Quickbooks. As most of our hirers are regulars it doesn't take too long to send out our invoices which we do monthly unless requested otherwise.
