Wanstead Meeting has, for maybe a year now, served only plant based ‘milk’ with tea and coffee after MfW as part of our “eco-church” commitment.

It has been controversial (people sneaking in cows milk ‘under the counter’!) but we have stuck with it so far and is a good stimulus for conversation.

There are explanation signs put out on the counter explaining why.

We also try to use only Fairtrade Products.

Both were decisions of the Local Business Meeting.

Hello

My initial thought on requiring hirers to conform to this is that it is an imposition rather than an education.

We may want to have signage explaining why we prefer only plant based food.

I would also suggest that we don't allow uncooked meat and fish to be in our kitchens.

Subject: [wardenship] Plant based catering

Hello All

Our Meeting is considering whether we might move to entirely plant based catering for our own events and requiring hirers to only serve vegetarian food in their catering. We are wondering have any other Meetings made a similar move ? And if so what was the  response of your Meeting and hirers.
