I think I would regard this as the responsibility of your Area Meeting to deal with.

Even if the books are housed with local Friends, Area Meeting should know what is happening to what is really AM property.

Subject: [wardenship] Care of Quaker Library Books

Friends, As you are all probably aware, Scarborough Local Meeting is closed for all room hirings and

only open to Friends for Meeting for Worship, pending the building being sold.

The Meeting House boiler hasn’t worked since February 2024 and there is concern for the Library books which

are becoming damp due to the cold / lack of heating.

I think all that Friends can think of for now is that as many books as possible can be shared out and stored at

the homes of those who are able to accommodate them.

Has anyone else ever had this kind of problem?

Anyone any other ideas?

I can pass any information on to the relevant Committees.

Many thanks, Friends

Ann Turner
