Recommendations for folding tables

Hi. I would appreciate some advice about what folding tables people have found which are good. At the moment we have Mogodirect 3'x3' tables which are a good size for us, easy to put up and store but are coming apart . They have lasted well given how much use they get, but the steel legs screw directly into the plastic table top and after 5 years (3 really because we closed for most of 2 years due to the pandemic) are tearing through. Not particular keen on the plastic top either. Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for anything stronger that might last longer. Non plastic would be preferable; foldable is essential as we have little storage space. Many thanks, Vicki Ross. Warden Taunton Meeting.

Hi Vicki, In Bradford on Avon, we use Gopak tables of various sizes. They are about 70cms (2 ft 4in) by 90cm (3') / 120cm (4') / 180cm (6'). We inherited the largest of them from Bath Meeting House 4 years ago and had the others for at least 10 years, more likely 20. They're not cheap, but they do last. Ours get a lot of use, several of them being used by an art class most Wednesday mornings, others for children's activities, Quaker meals, table for Clerks, etc. etc. Best wishes, Klaus Huber Resident Warden, Bradford on Avon On Wed, Apr 26, 2023 at 11:31 AM Vicki <tmhwarden@tauntonmeetinghouse.co.uk> wrote:

We use Gopak as well, and they were the table of choice when I worked in Central Manchester Meeting House. I do find sometimes that people try to put them up by pulling the bottom of the legs though... In Ashburton, we have a ‘tool’ you can get from Gopak which makes it easier to lever the legs into an upright position. I find that you need to demonstrate it to people. Hi Vicki We use Gopak economy folding tables at New Barnet, too. Ours are 10 years old and are not showing any signs of wear. They're light and easy to put up once you get the knack. Another here for Gopak tables. I seem to remember similar discussions about Gopak tables over a decade ago. They came out top in a quick poll at a Wardens Conference at Woodbrooke too :) Uxbridge has managed to break one and I've been very surprised (we think someone tried to stand on one end...) At Coventry we have standardised on their Premier range (It doesn't have that aluminium ridge around the edge) I think from memory we have settled on their 4ft x 2ft 6 in ones and 30 inch high These, mixed with the rest we have are all the same height (Very important) and light enough to easily carry around. and yes with a tool for each floor. gopak tables are very popular. I think we have lost at least 4 so far. See notice attached And you can get them to match your curtains!
