Re: Omnidirectional boundary microphone

Many moons ago it was recommended we get a Blue Yeti microphone, which has an omnidirectional option. They cost about £100 but make a massive difference to the quality of our meetings. We have an 11.5m square room with a high ceiling. We have a couple of rings of chairs in the centre with benches containing the worship space and at the back we have a trolley with our Zoom equipment on it. The screen is at about the height of the head of someone sitting down and we have a 180 degree camera on top. This means Friends joining can see everyone in the meeting as it they were sat there, and we can see them as part of our worshipping group instead of being apart from it. Our ministry is Friends standing from their chairs and speaking, The microphone is good enough to pick this up and so we can have as natural a meeting as possible while being fully inclusive. In NE Thames we are trying to help people be heard in blended meetings in a modernist hexagonal room with floor to ceiling windows and a lot of hard surfaces. Also in the converted top floor of a former industrial building, when we take the laptop and screen there. We have been using an ex professional microphone that was gifted during the pandemic. I have heard that our friend in Northumbria recently improved the sound for their blended area meetings and would be interested to know what was purchased. Hi Martin
When we had our hearing loop installed, they hung an omnidirectional microphone from the centre of our ceiling. I’m not sure whether this is the cheapest option but it seems to work well.

Bit of a technical question:
I'm in the process of assembling a loop amplifier system in our second largest room and am looking for a suitable OMNIDIRECTIONAL boundary microphone to site on a table in the middle of the room to pick up speech. The furthest point from the table would be around 8M and the lead from the mic to the amplifier needs to be 4M long.
I'd be interested in other Meetings experience and feedback before spending money.
Oh, and the budget is tight, so a readily available second hand unit would be preferable.
